Our Hiring Process


Step 1: Apply

The first step of the hiring process is finding a role and submitting an application. Apply today!

Step 2: Interviews

A recruiter will contact you to start the interview process. Be prepared to discuss your skills and experiences. This is also an opportunity for you to learn more about us. We encourage you to ask questions about job requirements, the type of work you would be expected to do, and your team. Upon completion of the interview process, we will determine if an offer will be extended to you.

Step 3: Offer Process

The hiring manager and interviewers will make the final hiring decision. Applicants who are interviewed will be notified once the recruiting process has concluded, and the top candidate will receive an offer. Upon acceptance of our offer, your recruiter will help you coordinate your start date and you will be contacted by a Staffing Coordinator to walk you through the next steps.

Step 4: Pre-Employment Testing

All offers are contingent on successfully completing the onboarding process, which includes a background screening, health screen, drug test and other job-related requirements.

Step 5: Start

Welcome to the Covenant Health team! Upon your start date, you will attend New Employee Orientation. If you have any questions along The Hiring Process, please contact your Recruiter or Staffing Coordinator.

Cardiac Rehab Department

The Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation department at LeConte Medical Center takes pride in helping patients restore their physical fitness after a serious cardiac or pulmonary event or illness. Through exercise, education and counseling, patients regain their strength to return to a more active lifestyle that helps them prevent further illness. Our Cardio and Pulmonary Rehab team is comprised of RNs, Respiratory Therapists and Exercise Physiologists who love helping patients while also supporting and encouraging their work family.

Sevier County Wellness Clinic

The Sevier County Wellness Clinic is a primary care facility that serves Sevier County Government Employees and their families. We offer our patients clinic services, long-term prevention programs and dispensary procedures. Patient care is our main priority as we give back to the community that serves us. It’s a joy to work with patients who are so grateful for the free healthcare they receive.

Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home

Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home is a 5-star facility that is dually licensed to provide skilled and long-term care for those who seek our assistance. We are located just across the street from LeConte Medical Center, and the nursing home staff participates in all educational programs and hospital functions. The Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home has deep roots in the community, and the staff has worked to create an atmosphere where residents can live in a home-like environment. Our caring and professional staff is dedicated to providing compassion, care, and respect that we would wish for our own family.

Imaging

The Radiology Department at LeConte Medical Center is high volume with full diagnostic imaging services. This department is staffed with multi-modality technologists and RNs who work as a team to provide excellent patient care. While fast-paced, the imaging team works to create a positive, fun atmosphere for both patients and their staff.

Critical Care Unit

The Critical Care Unit at LeConte Medical Center is comprised of an ICU wing and IMC (step-down) wing. With small nurse to patient ratios, our staff is able to give our critically ill patients the best possible care. The staff strives to create a warm and welcoming team environment that cultivates healing for the patients and their families.

Medical Unit

The Medical Unit at LeConte Medical Center is our largest unit, where you will find patients recovering from surgeries as well as those suffering from various illnesses, thus requiring a well-rounded knowledge base for caregivers. The culture of this unit is energetic with a warm and welcoming team environment. Whether you are looking to start your career as an RN, CNA or HUC or have years of experience, our medical unit is a team you’d be proud to call your work family.

OBGYN

The Dolly Parton Birthing Center at LeConte Medical Center is fully equipped with LDRP beds, postpartum/GYN rooms, a nursery, a triage unit, recovery room and OR Suite. This department is a family-centered birthing unit with the main goal to provide excellent birthing experiences for patients and their families, and to promote family bonding with care and education.

Emergency Room

The Emergency Department at LeConte Medical Center is one of the busiest ERs across all Covenant Health facilities. We see approximately 44,500 patients annually who vary from locals to tourists from around the world. The ER staff is comprised of RNs, ER Techs and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care.

Surgery

The Surgery Department at LeConte Medical Center is equipped with surgical suites, GI suites, PACU beds and ambulatory beds. The Surgery staff is comprised of RNs, CSTs, and CNAs that work together to provide excellent patient care. The nurse to patient ratio for the OR is 1:1 and 1:2 for ambulatory and PACU.

Nursing Student Opportunities

The Student Nurse Associate (SNA) positions offered at Covenant Health offer invaluable hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world healthcare settings. To qualify for this position, you must be in your junior or senior year of study in a registered nursing program and have either completed the fundamental clinical skills portion of the program or be scheduled to finish it within the same semester of employment.
