Covenant Health Names New Chief Financial Officer for Roane Medical Center

Covenant Health has announced that April VonAchen, vvice president of financial services and chief financial officer of Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tennessee, will join Roane Medical Center in Harriman as chief financial officer. VonAchen will continue her CFO responsibilities at Cumberland Medical Center in addition to her new role at Roane Medical Center.

VonAchen will oversee the financial operations of the hospital as well as registration, materials and food services. At Cumberland Medical Center, her responsibilities also include managing registration, materials, hospital-employed physicians and contracted services.

“I’m honored to expand my role to the Roane Medical Center team as the chief financial officer. This opportunity is particularly meaningful — it allows me to return to the community many of my family members call home. Plus, it’s just down the road from the Morgan County community that I grew up in,” said VonAchen.

Since joining Covenant Health in 2008, VonAchen has worked at several health system locations. She has had a variety of reponsibilities including financial analyst, accountant, and controller. She joined Cumberland Medical Center as a controller in 2014 and became vice president of financial services and chief financial officer in 2016.

VonAchen earned her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in healthcare administration from King University in Bristol, Tennessee. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a focus in accounting and human resources.
