Covenant Health Named to Becker’s 2023 “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare”

2023 list marks the fourth time Covenant Health has been recognized.

Covenant Health is pleased to announce the health system has been named for the fourth time to national list of top healthcare workplaces in the U.S.

Becker’s Hospital Review, a publication for healthcare industry leaders, recently announced its 2023 list of “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare,” which includes hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement and professional growth.

According to Becker’s, organizations that are named to this list “offer benefits and opportunities for employees to build successful careers above and beyond the average healthcare provider or company” through professional development and internal promotions. Organizations selected for the list also feature a positive work/life balance and make a positive impact on their communities.

The Becker’s list specifically highlighted Covenant Health’s collaboration to provide quality care across all its services and geographical areas, and mentioned the health system’s partnerships with educational organizations that train medical and nursing students.

“It’s an honor for Covenant Health to be included in the Becker’s list of top healthcare workplaces for the fourth time,” said Jim VanderSteeg, president and CEO. “As the largest employer in the Knoxville area, we’re committed to creating an outstanding environment where employees work together to put our patients first, strive for excellence in everything we do, and position Covenant Health as the first and best choice for those we serve.

“The Becker’s recognition includes some of the most prestigious healthcare organizations in the country. The Top 150 list affirms our commitment to developing our people, and to providing our employees with opportunities to achieve professional success and personal growth throughout their careers,” VanderSteeg said.

As part of the evaluation process, Becker’s reviewed Covenant Health’s mission, vision and value statements, its employee benefit package, diversity, professional development offerings, and employee satisfaction and retention. Covenant Health provided additional information about supporting employees through special relief funds and bonuses during the coronavirus pandemic, and described new telehealth initiatives, joint ventures, upcoming expansions and community involvement.

Becker’s Healthcare provides business and legal information for healthcare industry leaders through five trade publications, including Becker’s Hospital Review.
