This week for Staff Feature Friday we are getting to know the sweet Ms. Draughn who is one of our volunteers!

How long have you volunteered at Parkwest? (2½ years; Start date Feb. 5, 2015)

What is your favorite part about being a volunteer?

   Being able to give back for all the good things in my life. I like greeting and meeting the 

   needs of the patients and families who come to Parkwest.

Where are you from?

   Southwestern Virginia originally. I came to Oak Ridge when I was six years old,           

   graduated from high school there, and worked at the Oak Ridge facilities for 40 years.

What is your favorite food?

   Italian Gelato

What is your favorite dish at Christmas meals? 

   Sweet potato casserole, without the marshmallows.

What type of music do you like to listen to? / Who are your favorite artists?

   Contemporary. Current artists I like are Adele, Rihanna, Adam Levine.

Would you choose a free trip or money?

   Free trip; love to travel.

What is your favorite book? 

   “The Girls of Atomic City,” by Denise Kiernan; my mother was one. 

What is your dream vacation?

   I’ve already been on many of my dream vacations, Provence, Tuscany, Cotswolds and    

   many other European countries, Napa Valley, British Columbia, Turks & Caicos Islands,                               

   Jamaica and other Caribbean islands, anywhere with a beach. My only remaining dream     

   vacation is an Alaskan cruise, which I am planning to take with my family next year.
