The Silver Lamp Award
The Silver Lamp Award is a special honor for healthcare workers. Named after “The Lady with the Lamp,” Florence Nightingale, whose dedication and compassionate care earned her a place in medical history. The Silver Lamp Award shines as a symbol of healthcare workers’ commitment and compassion. Moment after moment, healthcare professionals look to bring compassion and care to their patients; this award honors and recognizes their commitment.
Those honored by Trinity Health Foundation have been chosen by their respective hospitals for impacting patient care by demonstrating excellence and commitment to the patients they serve. Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee continues to award healthcare workers to promote continuing education for healthcare professionals as they fulfill Trinity’s mission to improve our community’s physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Christal Lane – 2024 LeConte Silver Lamp Award Recipient
Christal found her home at LeConte Medical Center 10 years ago when she first started working in the emergency room as a scribe. When she was accepted into the Master of Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program in Memphis, Tennessee, the idea of one day coming back “home” to LeConte kept her motivated.
Since being able to come home, Christal has made it a point to become invested in the culture of LeConte. Despite being mainly on the night shift for the past two years, she has stayed involved in Covenant Health and LeConte events. From participating in the Transformation program and Jingle Run for Hope to leading team morale events in the lab, Christal strives to be a light to all around her. In addition, she has recently started serving on the culture committee at LeConte to see how the facility can continue to improve the culture. Christal goes above and beyond, not only for herself but also for our team and patients. She is committed to patient safety and even received a Speak Up! Award for her dedication and watchful eye.
Christal plans to use the scholarship money to further her pursuit of her laboratory supervisor’s license. She will attend Jackson State Community College for a course in Laboratory Management.
