Partners in the Care of Our Community
Methodist Medical Center would like to thank Isotek Systems, LLC for its generous $700 contribution earlier this week to our Hospitality Houses. The donation was the result of an online auction for Isotek employees who could bid on excess items that were no longer needed as a part of its project at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The auction ran for two weeks with Methodist’s Hospitality Houses as the beneficiary of the event.
“Not only was there a lot of interest in the items but there was a lot of interest from employees in generating a larger donation for a great cause,” said Sarah Schaefer, President of Isotek.
Thanks to the generosity of auction bidders, $700 was raised for the Hospitality Houses. Office equipment, office furniture, electrical conduit, water totes, trash bins, and an electric motor were some of the items included in the auction.
A Home-Away-From-Home Tradition
For over 27 years, the houses have offered a home-away-from-home for many patients and family member guests who must travel long distances for their care. The lodging provided at the Hospitality Houses is always free of charge, and gifts such as this help us continue this tradition of care and comfort. And for that, we are so incredibly grateful to the Isotek team and all those who consider the Hospitality Houses with donations whether it be monetary, in-kind, or a volunteer of time.
