Holiday Letter from CAO Devan Johnson

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the relationships we build upon or create anew. This season allows us a special opportunity to reflect on the people who are most important to each of us.

The teams at Parkwest Medical Center, Peninsula, and I want to express our gratitude to you and to wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season. Every year, thousands of you and your loved ones choose to trust us with your care. It is an honor and a blessing to have such strong community support from so many friends and neighbors. I have grown to love the area we live in and the people that choose to call East Tennessee home!

As I reflect on the last 12 months, I am so grateful for the many new team members who have joined us in 2023. Parkwest has added over 700 new people to our hospital team. These team members work in nursing, respiratory therapy, environmental services, clinical support, registration, and many more disciplines. We have also added 44 new physicians to our medical staff. Each of these individuals brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to help us care for our community.

I remain grateful for and inspired by the amazing teams I get to work with every day at Parkwest Medical Center and Peninsula. Their compassion and passion to care for people during some of the most difficult times is humbling. I am thankful for all of those who use their time and talents to improve the lives of the patients who seek care here. They truly put our patients’ needs first.

Healthcare, at its core, is a service made up of individuals who are motivated by caring for and supporting others. Parkwest and Peninsula are committed to giving their best every day to care for you and your loved ones.
