An especially memorable experience for Harriman family

For parents Kerriann Brown and Colton Organek, Leap Day will be a holiday they will celebrate and hold dearly because they welcomed their first child into the world at Covenant Health Fort Sanders Regional.

Baby Aydan Colby Organek was born on February 29 at 9:29 a.m., weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and 19 inches long. New mom Kerriann chose to be induced into labor on this day for several reasons.

“My husband and I have both lost family members and we wanted to honor them,” she says. “My brother’s birthday was on April 29, so that number is meaningful to me. Aydan’s name is in honor of them as well.”

A resident of Harriman, Tennessee, Brown chose Fort Sanders Regional because of the excellent care she has received throughout her pregnancy with the Fort Sanders OB/GYN Group.

Janae Holmes, MSN, RN, director of women’s services at Fort Sanders Regional says her team is honored and thankful to be part of their birthing journey.

“I am proud of the outstanding care that our entire team provides to all our patients,” she says. “They prioritize teamwork, compassion and providing excellent patient care every day.”

Brown is thankful for the hospital team of nurses and providers who guided her through childbirth with care and expertise. Their support made her feel safe and empowered during this life-changing event. OBGYN L. Ellen Moffat, MD, helped bring baby Aydan safely into the world.

“I would absolutely recommend this place to have a baby,” says Brown. To have her miracle arrive on Leap Day, she says made it that much more special. “It means a lot to me, and we will still let him celebrate on March 1 each year,” she laughs.
