Self-awareness is the skill of being able to recognize and articulate your own emotions, understanding what you are feeling and why, as well as how those feelings are impacting your outcomes.

When you are aware of your own limitations and strengths you know when you need to cool off or be assertive, be independent or rely on another team member.  You are also able to clarify your values and goals, and set a course for success.
