Log in to My Covenant HealthA nurse at Morristown-Hamblen was honored recently with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. The DAISY Award was established in 1999 by the family of a patient who had received extraordinary care and compassion from his nurses during his final days.
Congratulations to Shandra for being recognized with the DAISY award. Shandra was nominated by a patient for the care and compassion she showed her during her hospital stay. Read her nomination below:

“This nurse was the sweetest nurse among an excellent nursing staff. My husband had to work during the shift she was my nurse and she seemed to pay extra attention to make sure I was ok. But the most wonderful part was when I bragged about her to PT, RT, other nurses, etc throughout the day. It was then I learned that the extra special care she gave was a normal part of the person and the nurse she is. Every department told me she always treats every patient that way. Wow! What a wonderful person, nurse and individual to have on your staff. This nurse doesn’t just deserve the Daisy award, she deserves she deserves the whole bouquet.”
