A nurse at Morristown-Hamblen was honored recently with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. The DAISY Award was established in 1999 by the family of a patient who had received extraordinary care and compassion from his nurses during his final days.
Congratulations to Crystal for being recognized with the DAISY award. Crystal was nominated by a patient for the care and compassion she showed the patient during her hospital stay. Read her nomination below:

“This was a hard pregnancy experience compared to my first. We had plenty of nurses walk in but this nurse was different. This nurse showed compassion, patience, and even love. I was given the well attention, not just as a patient but as a mother and human being. This nurse went the extra mile even while taking on other responsibilities. She was heaven-sent. This nurse alongside my family also coached me through delivery. This coaching was absolutely amazing! She is not just another nurse on the floor, she became family. This nurse received a hug from my mother, who was like me, very grateful for this nurse and all she did. Very deserving of this recognition and we are much honored to know her. “
