Becker’s Hospital Review, a national publication focusing on hospital business news for healthcare executives, characterizes community hospitals as primarily acute-care facilities that function to bridge the gaps in healthcare. Hospital CEOs recognized on the list are “charged with delivering high-quality, low-cost care to patients in the communities they serve.” They are also responsible for the growth of service lines, directing strategy and maintaining financial stability.

Fort Loudoun Medical Center, located in Lenoir City, Tennessee, offers comprehensive medical care covering 29 specialties, including stroke care, imaging and diagnostics, gastroenterology and surgical services. Last year, it announced an upcoming expansion of the critical and intensive care units, as well as the emergency department. Martin is very involved in the community, creating health education series, investing in prospective medical students and aiding in physician recruitment.
