Congratulations to Monica Fain from 5 Riverstone for being presented with the BEE Award. Monica recently received two nominations for this award, citing her kindness and professionalism. Read her nomination below:

Monica’s First Nomination

“I arrived at Parkwest from San Francisco to care for my dad. We are preparing to admit my dad into hospice for comfort care due to his declining health. Because of this it has been a difficult time for our family and especially my dad. Monica has helped make his hospital stay as comfortable as possible not only for my dad, but for our entire family.

Whenever she comes into his room, she always greets him and the family by our first names. She asks how he is doing and if he needs anything or if any of us do as well. Before she starts anything, she always tells my dad step by step what needs to be done, which is so helpful. She is extremely gentle, kind and loving to my dad and he feels very comfortable and safe in her care. I can’t express how grateful we are to have received the care we have for my dad from Monica. It has made a challenging and difficult time in our lives just a little easier.” Nominated by: A Patient’s Daughter

Monica’s Second Nomination

“Monica was so adamant about being there for me and showing up even if there was nothing she could do to help me at the time. She was always on the spot to help me with changing my bed due to C-Diff.

I have been in excruciating pain due to an injury, and she tried to help me calm myself through unimaginable pain and it means to world to me. It’s a very helpless feeling without people like Monica, especially when you are basically paralyzed and cannot do anything for yourself, or advocate for yourself. She is an angel in a situation when you have no one to advocate for you. She really steps up.” Nominated by: A Patient
