Maddie’s Nomination
“I had the pleasure of shadowing Maddie for a few hours to ensure that she knew how to properly use the bed alarms. What I did not realize going into the shift with her is that she was about to teach me way more about her role as a transporter her at Parkwest than I was teaching her! Her attitude was bright and bubbly our entire interaction. She took time to explain to me her workflow and responsibilities as a transporter, which is something that I feel all clinical staff could benefit from. Maddie took pride in her work, was kind and compassionate to her patients and their family members. She took the time to introduce herself, explain what she was there to do, and what the patient /family could expect. She even gave them a time estimate on how long things would take. She used tools that we teach in High Reliability Organization training, especially taking the patient experience from a “neutral” zone to an “exceptional” one. I am proud to have Maddie as part of our Parkwest family! CUDOS to you, Maddie!
