Congratulations to David Berry from Peninsula for being presented with the BEE Award. He was nominated by three separate co-workers for his excellence, and his commitment to the Peer Support program.

Nomination 1

“David frequently helps patients who are in crisis connect with clinical services. As his role is peer support in Sevier and Blount County he has more frequent contact with patients. Dave will even drive patients from the peer center to their appointment, a few minutes away, in Sevierville to ensure that they are engaged in their clinical services as well as peer support. Dave models “BEE more” every day in his encounters with the peers in our outpatient peer program!”

Nomination 2

“One day a member of peer support was in crisis. David and I were sitting with the member listening to what was going on with the member. David listened intently and when the member was done speaking, he took action by picking up the phone and helping the member find the solution to the issue they were facing.”

Nomination 3

“David has embodied the spirit of the Covenant Health mission. Working in Peninsula Peer Support, David has always put the members (patients) first. When members have been in crisis, David has worked diligently to connect them to Peninsula services. David picks members up and drops them off at the clinic during his daily route, allows members to participate in online therapy and therapeutic groups while at the center, and checks in with members about their mental health frequently. David teaches classes about boundaries, supports members in their socialization, and gives them a needed respite from their struggles some days. David is a shining example of what it means to be Covenant Health.”
