Social Worker Support

Dealing with cancer is a stressful experience. Thompson’s clinical social workers help patients and their families cope with the disease. Sometimes patients need assistance with:

• Family Relationships
• Emotional needs
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Grief

Our social workers can also help with referrals to community programs and financial resources (if the patient meets eligibility guidelines), including:

• Assistance with applications for Social Security Disability, SSI and Medicaid
• Referrals to community agencies
• Qualified patients may receive assistance with expenses related to cancer treatment through the Thompson Cares Fund and other resources
• Resources for transportation
• Resources for prescription drugs
